All of the unique pieces that are part of her Beachy Keen by KK collection are handmade with genuine sea glass that is from Kristy’s family’s collection. Growing up in New Jersey, Kristy would take annual summer vacations to Lavallette Beach. One of her favorite things to do after a full day in the sun was to look for sea glass and seashells. The pieces used in designs are the way she found them on the beach, as Mother Nature intended.
“I love working with my clients on custom orders,” said Kristy. “It’s so sweet to hear the stories behind their requests and find out who the piece is being gifted to. It’s an honor to be a part of those celebrations.”
Kristy made sea glass art and jewelry in years past but only as gifts for family members. With the pandemic shutting down schools in the spring of 2020, she returned to crafting to stay sane and busy with three kids at home virtual learning.
“It’s been amazing to be able to be at home and help them while working on this new business venture at the same time,” said Kristy.
