Whether you are a total novice at knitting, crocheting, and weaving, or experienced at everything fiber, this is an evening you will enjoy. Donna Weiner and her staff at Black Sheep Yarn Shop will hold hands-on mini-classes on knitting, crocheting, and loom weaving for beginners to get you “hooked” on learning more. There will also be demonstrations on spinning yarn and the popular Brioche knitting technique for more advanced knitters. A perk: WDP members who attend this evening and register for future classes at Black Sheep will receive $5 off classes.
Knitting is good for women. Research shows it lowers blood pressure and anxiety, fights depression, and reduces the chance of developing cognitive impairment by 30-50% as you age. Good stuff! But even if you are still not convinced you want to take up knitting, you are welcome to join us for a glass of wine and camaraderie.
Black Sheep Yarn Shop has fresh and fabulous yarns! So if you need to declutter yarn from old projects to make room for new, bring it with you. We’ll collect it and donate it to a group that knits projects for those in need.
