We love when style and great causes meet — so when Mark and Graham launched their new Pendleton pet collection, it caught our attention! The retro vibes — classic Pendleton design– are inspired by National Parks. As Mark and Graham write on their site: The National Park Pet Collection helps support Pendleton’s efforts to protect and restore the national parks we all love through their partnership with the National Park Foundation, the official nonprofit partner of the National Park Service. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of collection items will be donated to the National Park Foundation. Great cause and some pretty great canine style! View the collection here.

The local peach crop is in and this is one of the sweetest crops we can remember – can’t get enough of them! Chilled or grilled, baked, blended or puréed, they work in salads, entrées and desserts. This week we’re crushing on Mary Alice Monroe — New York Times bestselling author of 27 books and a favorite author of many of our Women’s Daily Post readers! Her Beach House books are set in the Lowcountry of South Carolina, and against that scenic coastal landscape, she tells the story of the Rutledge family – the bonds between mothers and daughters, tales of class, infidelity and domestic abuse, and of resilience and strength. Summer reads at their best! We have one in our beach bag right now. Mary Alice is also an avid conservationist and she weaves her conservation work into every novel – Bottlenose dolphins, monarch butterflies, shorebirds, and loggerhead sea turtles make important appearances. She is on the South Carolina Aquarium Board Emeritis, The Leatherback Trust, The Pat Conroy Literary Center Honorary Board, Friends of Coastal Carolina and Casting Carolinas Advisory Board. Her website has more information about her conservation…

Leah Eskin, writes the food column, Home of the Range, which runs weekly in the Chicago Tribune. She is the author of a memoir, Slices of Life: A Food Writer Cooks through Many a Conundrum – a book of recipes and the stories that go with them (the names Emergency Cherry Pie and Beach House Spaghetti give hints to the tales.) Leah is a Baltimore resident and happy to do readings, coaching and teaching at book clubs and events if you contact her. She graciously shared her recipe for Sweet Cherry Pie with Women’s Daily Post, just in time to enjoy the local crop of sweet cherries! Our crush this week is Hiba Stancofski! Hiba emigrated to the USA as a young woman escaping civil war in Lebanon and transitioned from an early career in research to teaching beach yoga and mindfulness. Her yoga and mindfulness practices helped her overcome childhood trauma, and she is now using them to help families thrive during the chaos of the pandemic. Tell us a little bit about your background and family I grew up in Lebanon, a beautiful country on the Mediterranean, but left in my early twenties to start a new life in the States after 13 long years of raging civil war. I got my Bachelors degree in Biology from the American University of Beirut, followed by my Masters in Biology from American University, Washington, DC. I then worked in research at Georgetown University, until I moved to Baltimore with my husband, Erik. I worked at the University…
